Arthritis Foundation honors Dr. Bob as Rheumatologist of the Year at its 37th Annual Awards Gala Mystique Masquerade Ball on November 2, 2013

The Arthritis Foundation, New Jersey Chapter's Gala is a premiere event, raising money for National research and local services to the 1.4 billion people with arthritis in New Jersey. The 300 - 500 guests come from corporations, government, health care and individual sponsors who believe that the pain people suffer from arthritis everyday is unacceptable. The Gala is a way to take an active stand against arthritis pain and, at the same time, network and enjoy and evening celebrating deserving honorees.

Over the past 37 years, more than 1,000 corporations and businesses have supported this event raising millions of dollars to support the Foundation's mission.

 

The Arthritis Foundation's mission is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control, and cure of arthritis and related diseases. Surprising to many people is that arthritis affects 50 million Americans, including 300,000 children, and it is among America's top causes of disability. Arthritis takes a tremendous toll on working people and on the national economy. The Foundation is proactive in education, advocacy and disease management programs, and it is the largest non-governmental source of funding for arthritis research in the country.

 

The 2013 Gala Award:

 

The award is given to a rheumatologist who has done one or more of the following:

 - Demonstrated excellence and achievement in his/her field

- Shown outstanding service to his/her patients

- Helped to further the mission of the Arthritis Foundation
